# Client installation

This topic explains how to install the Entrust Identity as a Service Administration API client while restricting each client package to its intended package source.

Review the [SDK licenses and open source software notices](/api/sdk-licenses-and-oss-notices.md) before you download or use an API client.

## System requirements

The IDaaS Administration API client has the following system requirements:

**Java**

- Java 8 or higher
- Maven, or Gradle 6.2 or higher

**CSharp**

- .NET Standard 2.0
- .NET Standard 2.1
- .NET Framework 4.8
- .NET 8.0
- NuGet 6.0 or higher

**Python**

Python 3.9 or higher

## Install the Administration API client

Select your programming language and follow its installation instructions.

**Java**

The IDaaS Administration API Java client is available from the IDaaS Maven repository.

**Maven**

warning

Maven 3 cannot restrict a package group to one repository in the POM. Before you add the client, configure your organization's repository manager so that it resolves `com.entrustdatacard` only from the IDaaS repository. Repository order alone does not provide this protection.

Add the IDaaS repository:

```xml
<repositories>
  <repository>
    <id>idaas-releases</id>
    <url>https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/java</url>
  </repository>
</repositories>
```

Add the dependency:

```xml
<dependency>
  <groupId>com.entrustdatacard</groupId>
  <artifactId>intellitrust-admin-Administration</artifactId>
  <version>5.47</version>
</dependency>
```

**Gradle**

Restrict the `com.entrustdatacard` group to the IDaaS repository:

```groovy
repositories {
    exclusiveContent {
        forRepository {
            maven {
                name = "idaasReleases"
                url = uri("https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/java")
            }
        }
        filter {
            includeGroup("com.entrustdatacard")
        }
    }
    mavenCentral()
}
```

Add the dependency:

```groovy
implementation 'com.entrustdatacard:intellitrust-admin-Administration:5.47'
```

**CSharp**

The IDaaS Administration API C# client is available from the IDaaS NuGet repository.

warning

Use the complete `nuget.config` configuration. The `<clear />` element removes inherited package sources, and `packageSourceMapping` restricts the client package to the IDaaS repository. Do not add the IDaaS source without this mapping.

Add the package sources and map the IDaaS package to its repository in your `nuget.config` file:

```xml
<configuration>
  <packageSources>
    <clear />
    <add key="nuget.org" value="https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json" protocolVersion="3" />
    <add key="idaas-releases" value="https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/csharp/index.json" />
  </packageSources>
  <packageSourceMapping>
    <packageSource key="nuget.org">
      <package pattern="*" />
    </packageSource>
    <packageSource key="idaas-releases">
      <package pattern="com.entrustdatacard.intellitrust.admin" />
    </packageSource>
  </packageSourceMapping>
</configuration>
```

Add the package reference to your project file:

```xml
<ItemGroup>
  <PackageReference Include="com.entrustdatacard.intellitrust.admin" Version="5.47.0" />
</ItemGroup>
```

Use the following namespaces:

```csharp
using com.entrustdatacard.intellitrust.admin.api;
using com.entrustdatacard.intellitrust.admin.Client;
using com.entrustdatacard.intellitrust.admin.model;
```

By downloading the IDaaS Administration API C# client, you agree to the terms of the [license](/license/license.txt). See the [C# open source software notices](/oss/OSS-csharp.txt) for included open source software.

**Python**

Choose a package manager. The pip command uses a versioned package URL and SHA-256 hash. The uv and Poetry configurations restrict the client package to the IDaaS repository and record artifact hashes in their lock files.

warning

For pip, use the complete package URL and SHA-256 hash. For uv and Poetry, keep the explicit package-source mapping and commit the lock file. Do not configure the IDaaS repository as an unscoped additional package index.

**pip**

Install the client from its versioned package URL:

```bash
python3 -m pip install --upgrade \
  "intellitrust-python-administration @ https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/python/simple/intellitrust-python-administration/intellitrust_python_administration-5.47-py3-none-any.whl#sha256=3f4505424af66686e82775ab64d5b97a45b19209f890553026dce23323a0f333"
```

**uv**

Add the dependency and explicit source mapping to the project configuration:

```toml
[project]
dependencies = [
  "intellitrust-python-administration==5.47",
]
[tool.uv.sources]
intellitrust-python-administration = { index = "idaas" }
[[tool.uv.index]]
name = "idaas"
url = "https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/python/simple"
explicit = true
```

```bash
uv lock
uv sync
```

Verify that `uv.lock` records the wheel hash `sha256:3f4505424af66686e82775ab64d5b97a45b19209f890553026dce23323a0f333`, then commit the lock file.

**Poetry**

Add the IDaaS repository as an explicit source, then add the client from that source:

```bash
poetry source add --priority=explicit idaas \
  https://entrust.us.trustedauth.com/packages/client/python/simple
poetry add --source idaas \
  "intellitrust-python-administration==5.47"
```

Verify that `poetry.lock` records the wheel hash `sha256:3f4505424af66686e82775ab64d5b97a45b19209f890553026dce23323a0f333`, then commit the lock file.
