# Regenerate API shared secret

If needed, you can regenerate the shared secret for Administration API applications. If you regenerate the shared secret, you must reconfigure the API application with the newly generated shared secret in order for authentications to be successful.

## Regenerate Administration API to Identity as a Service

1. Go to Menu icon **>** **Security > Applications**. The **Applications** page appears.
2. Click Refresh CW icon next to the applicable Administration API application.
3. Click **Regenerate**.
4. Copy the shared secret.
5. Click **OK**.
