# Create OIDC custom claims

You can create custom claims for OIDC applications. Claims appear on the OIDC Custom Claims page. If required, custom claims can be deleted from this page.

- Use custom claims when your application needs identity data that is not included in default claims.
- Keep claim names stable after release so integrations do not break.
- After you add a custom claim, map it in each application under **Supported Claims** so it is returned in tokens.

### To create a custom claim

1. Click Menu icon **>** **Security > Applications**. The **Applications List** page appears.

2. Under **OpenID Connect and OAuth Cloud Integrations**, click **OIDC Custom Claims**. The **OIDC Custom Claims** page appears.

3. Click Circle Plus icon. The **Add Custom Claim** dialog box appears.

4. Enter a **Name** for the custom claim. It must be unique.

5. Click **Add**.

   > The claim is added to the **OIDC Custom Claims** list and appears in the **Add Claim** list of the **Supported Claims** section of the **Add OIDC application** page.

6. If required, click Trash icon next to the custom claim name to delete it.

warning

Deleting a custom claim can break applications that already depend on that claim name.
