RADIUS integration prerequisites

Use the Generic RADIUS Client to configure your Virtual Private Network (VPN) server for RADIUS authentication. The Generic RADIUS Client works with the IDaaS gateway and its RADIUS agent. In this configuration, the IDaaS gateway and RADIUS agent act as the RADIUS server.

Prerequisites

  1. Configure a gateway on Identity as a Service. The gateway contains the RADIUS agent that must exist on Identity as a Service before you create a RADIUS application. For more information on gateways, see Manage Gateways.
  2. If you plan to use EAP authentication, download the SSL certificate to the VPN server you want to connect with IDaaS. Download the SSL certificate from the gateway instance that contains the RADIUS agent you will use with your application. See Export SSL certificate for more assistance. This step is not required for non-EAP RADIUS authentication.
  3. Configure your application to work with IDaaS. See the instructions for the applicable RADIUS or VPN application. IDaaS supports a subset of the features described in those instructions. Also consult the IDaaS release notes and your account settings for supported features.
