# ServiceNow

ServiceNow provides a cloud computing platform to help companies manage digital workflows for enterprise operations (see <https://www.servicenow.com>). You can protect access to ServiceNow by integrating ServiceNow with Identity as a Service. Once integrated, users can use single sign-on to log in to their ServiceNow account through Identity as a Service.

note

This integration was tested using Identity as a Service version 5.13 and ServiceNow Paris developer instance. Other versions of ServiceNow may require integration and configuration steps that differ from those documented in this procedure. For other versions of ServiceNow, use this procedure as a starting point for integrating ServiceNow. In the event of other issues, contact <support@entrust.com> for assistance.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, you need to configure SAML 2.0 for ServiceNow. See <https://saml-doc.okta.com/SAML_Docs/How-to-Configure-SAML-2.0-for-ServiceNow.html> for more information.

To integrate ServiceNow with Identity as a Service, you must do the following:

## Step 1: Copy the SAML Configuration from Identity as a Service

1. Log into your Identity as a Service administrator account.

2. Click Menu icon **>** **Security > Applications**. The **Applications** **Lists** page appears.

3. Under **SAML Cloud Integrations**, click **SAML Configuration**. The **SAML Configuration** dialog box appears.

This dialog box contains information you need to configure your SAML application for Identity as a Service authentication.

4. Do one of the following:

   - Leave this dialog box open to reference later in this procedure.
   - Copy the Entity ID, Single Sign-on URL, and Single Logout URL to a text file and save it to reference later in this procedure.

note

Depending on the integration you are performing, you may not need all three of these SAML configuration values.

## Step 2: Add Identity as a Service as an Identity Provider in ServiceNow and download the metadata

1. Log in to your ServiceNow administrator account.

2. Click your **Instance URL**. The ServiceNow Service Management page appears.

3. In the **Filter Navigator** field of the menu pane, type **Multi-Provider SSO**. The **Multi-Provider SSO** menu appears.

4. Click **Identity Providers**. The **Identity Providers** page appears.

5. Click **New**. The **What kind of SSO are you trying to create?** page appears.

6. Click **SAML**. The **New Record** page appears.

note
If the **Import Identity Provider Metadata** dialog box appears, click **Cancel** to close the dialog box.

7. In the **Name** field, enter a name for your Identity Provider, for example, entrust.

8. In the **Identity Provider URL** field, enter the **Entity ID** you copied in _Step 1: Copy the SAML configuration from Identity as a Service_.

9. In the **Identity Provider's AuthnRequest** field, enter the **Single Sign-On URL** you copied in _Step 1: Copy the SAML configuration from Identity as a Service_.

10. In the **Identity Provider's SingleLogoutRequest URL**, enter the **Single Logout URL** you copied in _Step 1: Copy the SAML configuration from Identity as a Service_.

11. In the **ServiceNow Homepage** field, replace `https://yourinstance.service-now.com/navpage.do` with your ServiceNow instance URL.

    Example: `https://dev12345.service-now.com/navpage.do`

12. In the **Entity ID / Issuer** field, replace `https://yourinstance.service-now.com` with your ServiceNow instance URL.

    Example: `https://dev12345.service-now.com`

13. In the **AudienceURI** field, replace `https://yourinstance.service-now.com` with your ServiceNow instance URL.

    Example: `https://dev12345.service-now.com`

14. Click **Submit**. The **Identity Providers** page appears with your new Identity Provider listed in the Name column.

15. Click the name of your new Identity Provider, for example entrust. The Identity Provider page appears.
