Create or assign grid cards
When you create a grid card for a user, IDaaS generates a serial number that the user can use to register the card. To assign an existing grid card, enter its serial number. Users can also create their own grid cards from the User Portal.
Use Create when you want IDaaS to generate a new grid card for a user. Use Assign when you already have a serial number from an existing unassigned grid card and want to link it to a specific user.
Before you start, confirm the following:
- The user profile has at least one valid email attribute if you plan to email the card.
- Your grid card policy is configured as expected for challenge size, expiration, and delivery settings.
- You know whether you are creating a new card or assigning an existing serial number.
Use the Assign a grid card to a user instructions to assign a grid card to a user through the user Authenticator tab. You can also assign grid cards through the Grid Card menu. See Manage unassigned grid cards.
