Manage unassigned grid cards
When you unassign a grid card from a user, it moves to the unassigned list and can be reassigned to another user. You can also filter by state to view assigned and unassigned grid cards, and export unassigned grid cards for bulk operations.
Use this page when you need to reassign cards that have not been used, or when you need to control administrator access to unassigned cards through group membership.
To modify the state of assigned user grid cards in bulk, see Set grid card state.
You cannot unassign a grid if it has been used. You can only unassign grid cards that have never been used (last used date is never).
Assign unassigned grid cards to users
- Click > Resources > Grid Card. The Grid Cards page appears.
- Click the Unassigned Grid Cards tab. The Unassigned Grid Cards list appears.
- Select the grid card with the serial number that you want to assign to a user. You can only assign one grid card at a time from this view.
- Click next to the grid card you want to assign. The Assign Grid Card dialog box appears.
- Enter the User ID for the user being assigned the grid card and then click Assign.
After assignment, the grid card no longer appears in the Unassigned Grid Cards list and appears under the assigned cards list for the user.
Edit group membership of unassigned grid cards
Group assignment is set when you generate unassigned grid cards. If required, you can edit group membership after generation to restrict access to certain administrator roles. You can edit group membership for individual unassigned grid cards only.
- Click > Resources > Grid Card. The Grid Cards page appears.
- Click the Unassigned Grid Cards tab. The Unassigned Grid Cards list appears.
- Click next to the grid card you want to update.
- To add groups, select the groups from the drop-down list. You can select multiple groups.
- To delete groups, remove the group from the list.
- Click Submit.
Validate your changes
After you assign a card or edit group membership, verify the following:
- The selected grid card row reflects the expected assignment or group restrictions.
- The card appears in the correct list (assigned or unassigned) after the action.
- Administrator roles can see only the unassigned cards allowed by the configured group membership.
