Delete KBA question and answer pairs

This procedure explains how to delete one or more question-and-answer (Q&A) pairs from a knowledge-based authenticator (KBA). Before you begin, note the following:

  • In the User Portal, only the user can modify their KBA answers.
  • Every user must keep a minimum number of Q&A pairs. A user cannot delete a Q&A pair if doing so would reduce the total below the required minimum.
  • The minimum number of Q&A pairs is based on the configured KBA challenge settings. For more information, see Modify knowledge-based authenticator settings.

Validate your changes

After deletion, verify the following:

  1. The removed Q&A pairs no longer appear in the user's KBA question list.
  2. The user still has enough Q&A pairs to satisfy the minimum challenge requirements.
  3. The user can still complete KBA authentication with the remaining questions.
