# Assign and activate Entrust Soft Token authenticators

Use this procedure to assign Entrust Soft Tokens to users and activate them when needed.

## Assign Entrust Soft Tokens to users

1. Click Menu icon **>** **Members > Users**. The **Users List** page appears.
2. Click the user ID. The **User Details** page appears.
3. Click the **Authenticators** tab. The **Authenticators** page appears.
4. Click Circle Plus icon. A drop-down list of authenticators appears.
5. Select **Entrust Soft Token** from the drop-down list. Entrust Soft Token appears in the user's list of authenticators.
   - If the user has an email address, IDaaS sends activation instructions for Entrust Soft Token.
   - If the user does not have an email address, the user must activate Entrust Soft Token from **My Profile**.

Click Ellipsis Vertical icon next to the Entrust Soft Token and select **Re-Activate** from the drop-down list to send another email if the first email was not received or the Entrust Soft Token was not activated before the activation expiry.

## Activate an Entrust Soft Token for a user

Use manual activation when the user cannot complete activation directly, for example when connectivity is unavailable. The user must provide the administrator with the registration code from the Entrust Soft Token application.

1. Click Menu icon **>** **Members > Users**. The **Users List** page appears.

2. Click the User ID. The **User Details** page appears.

3. Click the **Authenticators** tab. The **Authenticators** page appears.

4. Click Ellipsis Vertical icon next to the Entrust Soft Token and select Check Check icon Manual. A **Complete Manual Token Activation** window appears.

5. In **Enter Registration Code**, enter the 10-digit registration code from the Entrust Soft Token application.

If your administrator role allows activation code visibility, **Manual activation details** appears on the **Complete Manual Token Activation** window. Click Play icon next to **Manual activation details** to view the **Activation Code** in the **Complete Manual Token Activation Details** dialog.

6. Click **Complete** to register the authenticator with IDaaS.

## Validate your changes

After assigning or manually activating Entrust Soft Token, validate the result.

1. Confirm Entrust Soft Token appears on the user's **Authenticators** list.
2. Confirm the user receives the activation email, or can access activation from **My Profile** if no email is configured.
3. For manual activation, confirm the authenticator status updates successfully after you click **Complete**.
4. If activation fails, use **Re-Activate** and confirm the new activation message is delivered.
