Edit a token label

Use this procedure to update a soft token label in IDaaS. Updating labels is useful when users have multiple soft tokens, because labels are easier to recognize than serial numbers. For example, labels such as My Phone and My Tablet are easier to identify quickly.

Edit a token label​

  1. Click > Members > Users. The Users List page appears.
  2. Click the User ID for the user you want to update. The User Details page appears.
  3. Click the Authenticators tab. The Authenticators page appears.
  4. Click to the right of the soft token authenticator that you want to edit. A drop-down list appears.
  5. Click Edit. The Edit Label dialog box appears.
  6. Enter a label for the token and then click Save.

Label tips​

Use short, descriptive labels so users can identify tokens quickly. For example, include the device type or ownership context, such as Work Phone or Personal Tablet.

Validate your changes​

After saving the label, validate the result.

  1. Confirm the updated label appears in the user's authenticator list.
  2. Confirm the label clearly identifies the correct token.
  3. If multiple tokens are assigned, confirm each token label is unique.
