Modify Google authenticator settings

Use this procedure to review and update Google Authenticator policy settings in IDaaS.

Changes made to Google authenticator settings apply to all assigned Google authenticators in your account.

Modify Google Authenticator settings in IDaaS

  1. Click > Policies > Authenticators. The Authenticators page appears.

  2. Select Google Authenticator. The Google Authenticator settings appear.

    If the Google authenticator display name has been changed, Google Authenticator is replaced with the new name. For more information, see Customize email templates.

  3. Set Max. Time Steps to define how long a token response is valid during normal authentication.

  4. Set Max. Reset Time Steps to define how long a token response is valid during a token reset operation.

    note

    This value affects token reset operations. If token reset fails, increase Max. Time Steps and try again. If the issue persists, contact Technical support.

  5. Click Save to confirm your Google Authenticator settings.

Validate your changes

After saving your settings, validate the result.

  1. Confirm the updated values remain selected after page refresh.
  2. Confirm affected users can complete Google Authenticator sign-in successfully.
  3. If token reset is used, confirm reset works with the configured Max. Reset Time Steps.
