# Map Immutable ID to the directory attribute

Complete this procedure to map an Identity as a Service custom user attribute to the user's `objectGUID` value in your directory account. The `objectGUID` attribute value is imported and applied to the `ImmutableID` attribute in Identity as a Service through Active Directory Sync. Being able to map the Immutable ID attribute to an `objectGUID` helps to streamline the configuration of specific SAML applications (such as Office 365) with Identity as a Service.

## Map ImmutableID to directory attribute ObjectGUID

1. Create a custom user attribute and name the attribute ImmutableID. See [Create and manage user attributes](/docs/people-and-access/manage-members/create-and-manage-user-attributes.md).
2. Click Menu icon **>** **Resources > Directories**. The **Directories** page appears.
3. Click the name of the Active Directory you want to edit. The **Edit Directory** page appears.
4. Go to the **Attribute Mappings** section. These settings control the attribute values that are mapped from the corporate directory to a user account.
5. Enter ObjectGUID into the **Immutable ID** attribute field.
6. Click **Save**. The **Directories** page appears.

The `ObjectGUID` value automatically appears as a user's **Immutable ID** attribute value.

## For Microsoft Entra ID Directory Sync, map Immutable ID to directory attribute onPremisesImmutableId

Complete this procedure to map an Identity as a Service custom user attribute to the user's `onPremisesImmutableId` value in your directory account. The `onPremisesImmutableId` attribute value is imported and applied to the `ImmutableID` attribute in Identity as a Service through Microsoft Entra ID Directory Sync. Being able to map the Immutable ID attribute to an `onPremisesImmutableId` helps to streamline the configuration of specific SAML applications (such as Office 365) with Identity as a Service.

## Map ImmutableID to directory attribute onPremisesImmutableId

1. Create a custom user attribute and name the attribute ImmutableID. See [Create and manage user attributes](/docs/people-and-access/manage-members/create-and-manage-user-attributes.md).
2. Click Menu icon **>** **Resources > Directories**. The **Directories** page appears.
3. Click the name of the Microsoft Entra ID you want to edit. The **Edit Directory** page appears.
4. Go to the **Attribute Mappings** section. These settings control the attribute values that are mapped from the corporate directory to a user account.
5. In the **Immutable ID** attribute field, enter **OnPremisesImmutableId**.
6. Click **Save**. The **Directories** page appears.

The `onPremisesImmutableId` value automatically appears as a user's Immutable ID attribute value.
