# Configure authenticator provisioning

Authenticator provisioning sets the authenticators that are provisioned automatically for users. You can automatically provision the following for users:

- Create a new password
- Create a grid
- Create a token (Entrust Soft Token or Google authenticator)
- Automatically enrol a smart credential

### Configure automatic authenticator provisioning

1. Click Menu icon **> Policies > Registration**. The **Registration** **pages** appear.
2. Select **Password** to have a password automatically assigned to new users.
3. Select **Grid Card** to automatically create a grid card for new users.
4. Select the **Token** authentication method automatically assigned to users from the drop-down list. Options include:
   - **Entrust Soft Token** or **Google Authenticator** if you want your users to activate by email.
   - Select **None** if you require your users to register, you are manually assigning authenticators to your users, or you have email, mobile/SMS, or phone (voice) system attributes enabled for OTP authentication.
5. Select **Smart Credential** if you want to assign a smart credential to new users. You must have a smart credential definition to use this feature.
6. Select the **Smart Credential Definition** that users should use from the drop-down list.
7. Click **Save**.
