Getting started
Identity as a Service is available in different bundles. The bundle type along with your user role determines the IDaaS features available to you. This Administration Guide describes all features. Some of these features may not be visible to you.
- For more information about IDaaS bundles, see Identity as a Service Bundles.
- For more information about roles, see Create, assign, and manage roles.
Users
There are two types of users—administrators and end users.
Administrators
If you are an administrator, you are logged in to the Administrator Portal. The Administrator Portal allows administrators to manage the user accounts assigned to them, as follows:
- Auditors can only view information available in Identity as a Service.
- Super Administrators can use all features of Identity as a Service.
- Help Desk Administrators can manage other user accounts, user authenticators (including mobile smart credentials and smart credential definitions), and groups.
- SIEM Add-on: This role provides full access to all SIEM management functions in view-only mode.
After logging in, Super Administrators and Auditors see the Dashboard page. Help Desk Administrators see the Users List page.
End users
If you are an end user, you are logged into the User Portal. The User Portal allows end users to access their authenticators and applications, and monitor their account activity.
End users do not have an administrative role assigned to them.

Accessing your Identity as a Service features
When you log in, the following occurs, depending on your role:
- Administrators are logged in to the Dashboard page or Users List page, depending on their administrative role. Administrators have access to all Identity as a Service menu items.
- End users are logged in to the My Profile page and only have access to the My Profile and My Activity menus.
Identity as a Service menus
To see your menu options, click the menu button (sometimes called a "Hamburger") in the top-left of the title bar. Your role determines the menu options available to you. For more information on roles, see Manage roles.
Session lifetime
Once you log in, your session expires after a period of inactivity and you are automatically logged out of Identity as a Service. The default session lifetime is 15 minutes. A warning appears before your session times out. If you see a Warning prompt, click Continue to avoid being logged out of your account. Administrators can change the default time out session. See Manage General settings for more information.
There is no session time limit when logging in to a RADIUS application.
Logging out
You are logged out of Identity as a Service when one of the following occurs:
- Your session lifetime expires.
- You explicitly log out.
- Your web browser session ends (typically when you close the browser).
On MacOS, you must Quit the browser to terminate the session.
